My name is Claire Adair and mum to Maya and Maisie Adair who are swimmers at GASC. I help support the club by promoting swimming events and sharing important information on our social media sites and club noticeboard to help keep everyone up to date.
As a working parent, small business owner and a dog owner, it can be hard to juggle everything, however offering a small part of my time has helped me meet new people and get involved in the running of the club.
There are many things you can do to help support the club from being on the committee to helping at a gala. We are always looking for helpers, bakers and good problem solvers. My advice is to get involved and offer what you can whether it's some of your time, baking cakes or supporting the coaches.
Both my daughters are club swimmers and I was at the pool nearly every evening so decided to get involved. Being part of the team has helped me meet new people and be part of the decision making to help drive GASC forward.
There's a great 'family' feel about GASC. Everyone is willing to help each other and all want the best opportunities for our young swimmers.
